New Work. I have been moving through a very transformative season this Summer. The little beach at the end of my street has been my hiding place, my grounding spot, a thin place where I could feel the healing presence of the Spirit all around me. I have been drawn to look for the weird bits down there. I only pick up pieces that have history. They have been through a lot before making it to this small stretch of sand where the river and ocean mix. and they carry their own deep beauty and grace. Is it too much for me to claim that this is me as well?
I introduced these pieces to my retreat friends in September. They carry words and story in protective layers of wistful color and life’s texture. I am recovering from surgery right now, but really yearning to create more of this work. Hoping I can at least start to piddle this weekend. I have a lot to say about where I have been and the liminal space I am finding myself in. It’s breathtaking here.
