Snyder Spark: Places of Innovation - Fall 2026

10/14/2026

⚠️ SPARK! AFTER DARK — IMPORTANT PROGRAM UPDATE!

Due to the heavy rain and storms expected in our area through Thursday, we've unfortunately had to postpone this week's SPARK! After Dark presentation with Tracee Robertson, originally scheduled for Thursday, October 15.

We know there's a great deal of interest in the history of the Diamond M Collection, and we're looking forward to welcoming Tracee to Snyder! We plan to reschedule her presentation, 90 Years of the Diamond M Collection: Innovation Then and Now, in the near future and will share the new date as soon as it's confirmed.

🏡 BUT SPARK! AFTER DARK IS STILL ON!

In place of our originally scheduled presentation, we currently plan to present Snyder Showplaces, a special evening celebrating some of the historic homes that are part of our community's story!

We'll screen a 27-minute film highlighting historic homes in Snyder, offering a look at the architecture, history, and places that have helped give our community its character.

Before the film, we'll also take a few minutes to talk about Snyder Showplaces, a book published by the Scurry County Historical Commission that documents some of these remarkable local homes.

📖 Interested in owning a copy? The book is available for purchase at the Scurry County Museum, although quantities are limited!

We appreciate everyone's understanding as we make adjustments to keep our guests and presenters safe.

From remarkable art collections to the homes and neighborhoods that tell the story of Snyder, there's always more of our community's history to discover!

🎨✨ SPARK! AFTER DARK CONTINUES THIS THURSDAY!

Did you know that Snyder was once home to one of the most remarkable private art collections in the Southwest?

This Thursday, we're exploring a fascinating chapter of Scurry County's history as Tracee Robertson joins us for the next installment of our SPARK! After Dark Guest Speaker Series!

🖼️ 90 Years of the Diamond M Collection: Innovation Then and Now

What began with the vision of C.T. and Claire McLaughlin grew into an extraordinary collection of American and Western art, eventually finding a home in Snyder's own Diamond M Museum.

For decades, the Diamond M brought remarkable works of art to West Texas, giving residents and visitors an opportunity to experience art that might otherwise have required a trip to a major metropolitan museum.

Join us as Tracee explores the collection's remarkable history, its lasting legacy, and the ways innovation continues to shape how we experience and preserve art today.
