Skaneateles Artisans Gallery Under the Old Stone Mill Skaneateles Artisans is a gallery located Under The Old Stone Mill. The gallery sells art & gifts from talented local artists and across the US.

Teresa Vitale is a self taught artist in business for over 45 years creating timeless art on a wide variety of surfaces using her faux and decorative painting techniques. Teresa strives to provide a venue to sell her own art as well as art crafted by many gifted local artists. It is my mission to bring quality unique art to the community and to help support the arts. She invite you to come and enjoy, stroll leisurely throughout the gallery, and take it all in. You will be amazed at the art that fills our space, and tremendous talent and gifts the artists posses. MaryBeth Sorber has spent most of her life in Central New York. She drew early inspiration from her great-aunt, Dora Hopkins, whose distinctive painterly style captured New England harbors and rural landscapes. Sorber also admires N.C. Wyeth, Edgar Degas, John Singer Sargent, and Claude Monet for their use of light and color. Her artistic training includes college-level courses, workshops, classes, and study with local artists. Working primarily in oils, she is a member of the Onondaga Art Guild and has exhibited at many Guild events and venues. She has received several awards for her paintings, including First Place in both the 2021 Central Adirondack Art Show and the 2021 Sackets Harbor Plein Air Competition. She has also participated for several years in St. David’s Celebration of the Arts, a local juried art show. Now living on Onondaga Hill, she finds inspiration in the surrounding hills, farms, and natural landscape.

Happy Columbus Day and Indigenous Day! We’re open today till 5PM

Today, we celebrate both Columbus Day and Indigenous Day. As someone who was born in Sicily, I understand the significance of celebrating culture. At Skaneateles Artisans, we celebrate all cultures. Our goal is to encourage artists to express themselves fully through their art.

Yesterday, we received a lot of new art. Now, I’m in the process of reinventing the space to accommodate all the beautiful new pieces. It’s been a lot of fun!

Jan Sheridan calls herself a folk artist, and she means it. She isn't interested in precise, controlled rendering. She'd rather her personality come through, imperfections and all.

That choice comes from experience. A personal tragedy shaped her work over the years, and it taught her that life doesn't come out perfect, so her art doesn't pretend to either. What you get instead is work that's childlike in the best way: playful, loose, and happy to be exactly what it is.

She's worked in painting, ceramics, fibers, illustration, sculpture, and glass, and it's all tied together by the Henry James line she keeps close: "It is art that makes life."

Her hope is that people feel a little joy and wonder when they look at her pieces. Stop by and see if it works on you!

Lauren Irvin works in three mediums and is genuinely great at all of them.

Her fused glass work started with a friend introducing her to stained glass thirty years ago. That turned into a full transition to fused glass in 2014, and the process still excites her from first design to the moment a piece comes out of the kiln.

Photography is more personal. Her dad taught her how to shoot, how to compose, how to find the frame worth keeping. When he passed, the family discovered over 20,000 digital images and fifteen boxes of film negatives. The camera is how she stays connected to him.

And then there are the copper leaves. Her metalsmithing work is something you really just have to see in person.

Betsy Veness studied graphic design at RIT before landing at Fisher Price Toys as a toy designer, which is already a pretty great origin story for an artist.

From there she evolved into an award winning mixed media artist and jewelry designer, bringing the same eye for design and detail from her earlier career into work that is entirely her own. Based out of East Aurora, NY, the creative foundation she built over the years shows up clearly in everything she makes.
