Pvt. Robert Gumaer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Gumaer of Clinton St., Jordan, was graduated from Ordnance
Supply School at Fort Knox, Ky., last| month, and was sent to Fort Dix, N. J., where he waited 4 days before being sent to Manheim, Germany. He is presently stationed with the 78th Ordnance Co. which is about 3 miles out of Manheim. While at Fort Knox, he played with the basketball team and averaged 19 points per game. Since arriving in Germany, he has been playing with the post team, whose record is 18 won and 2 lost. If his team wins the championship, they will get a 15-day trip to Paris, to play in the sectional finals. He says he likes Germany from what he has seen so far, but that it doesn't compare with Jordan. He will appreciate letters from his friends. His address is Pvt. Dick Smart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Smart of Hill St. arrived home last week Friday from Thule AFB in Greenland and has to return there March 13. When he left there, they were having seven minutes of daylight.
Richie Bell, who had been assistant scoutmaster of Troop 57, Jordan, enlisted in the Air Force last month, and was flown to Lackland AFB for basic training. His address is A/C Richard J.
