What does hope look like when the world feels uncertain?

UNWAVERING HOPE, Columbia City Gallery's 18th Annual Juried Exhibit, brings together artists whose work turns our attention toward persistence and possibility. Through painting, photography, installation, and mixed media, this year's juried exhibit explores the people, experiences, and everyday acts that help us remain hopeful while imagining a better future.

On view August 26 – October 4, 2026. Join us for the Artists' Reception & Awards Ceremony on Thursday, August 27, 5–7 PM. Refreshments and light bites served. Part of the Columbia City Art Walk.

Every artist has a story behind what they create.

For featured artist Stacy Hsu (.hsu.art), that story begins with a childhood in Taiwan, where days spent outdoors surrounded by trees, gardens, and wildlife fostered a lasting connection to nature. Years later, after a career in design, she brings that same sense of observation into her artwork, combining thoughtful composition with quiet moments of wonder.

In this Artist Spotlight, Stacy shares how growing up close to nature continues to shape the way she sees the world and the art she creates today.

Her featured exhibition, Mingling Spirits, is on view at Columbia City Gallery through July 12. Stop by to experience these intricate graphite and hand-stitched works in person.
