Heritage will offer free admission to all Indigenous Native Americans at the Admissions Booth today, Monday, October 12. Indigenous Peoples' Day celebrates and honors Indigenous Native American peoples and commemorates their histories and cultures.

Celebrate the recent reactivation of Heritage’s 1922 Ford Model T Howe Pumper and National Fire Prevention Week with us! Bring the whole family for a fun and educational day featuring special photo opportunities with Smokey Bear, an up-close look at Heritage’s antique fire truck outdoors along with additional fire trucks from Bourne Fire/Rescue & Emergency Services, Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire & Rescue Department, Sandwich Fire Department and the Mass DCR Bureau of Forest Fire Control (weather permitting), a chance to explore fire history-related artifacts from Heritage’s collection, and hands-on activities that teach important fire safety skills for all ages. Enjoy a sweet treat from Cloud 9 Frozen Treats while you explore the event!

Discover Hidden Hollow’s cranberry theme, Bog Squad and join author, Mary Bondarek, for readings from her book "Nugget’s Bog: Nugget Finds His Name." Mary will be available to sign copies of her book, which will be available for purchase before and after story time.

Wow! It's already the 7th of October! We invite you to get some garden in while you can. The weather has been glorious, and the grounds make a great match. Just a reminder friends, the last day of the main season is October 18. But until then, we've got two more programs to highlight. First up, our Antique Fire Truck Day on October 10, featuring some gorgeous, historic fire trucks and fun activities for the whole family. On October 12, we celebrate Indigenous' Peoples Day. Come explore the reproduction wetu, mush8n, and Three Sisters demonstration garden, and reflect on the vibrant Wampanoag culture that has shaped our area.
Heritage offers free admission to Indigenous individuals on this day.

Hello friends! It's that time of year again. Fall at Heritage is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the perfect seasonal weather, peep some leaves, enjoy all the color, AND purchase Gardens Aglow tickets. Here's a quick rundown of the ticket sale roll out dates:

Tomorrow! October 7: Eligible Benefit Package Holders and members at the Supporter level and above get first dibs on tickets, a full two weeks before the general public. An email has been sent to you with your code and directions for purchase.

Wednesday, October 14: All other members get their turn, one week ahead of the general public. Not a member yet, or due to renew? Join or renew before October 14 to be first in line.

Wednesday, October 21: Tickets open to the general public.

Heritage Museums & Gardens is proud to team up once again with our friends from the Sandwich Middle High School PTSA Group to bring you a Halloween celebration that’s festive, family-friendly, and just the right amount of spooky. Tickets are still available for both Friday and Saturday at the 6:45 pm entry window.

We all love our Hydrangea macrophylla plants, but they are the least cold-hardy hydrangea species and often bloom poorly following a harsh Cape Cod winter. During this small-group workshop session, Heritage’s Curator of Hydrangeas, Mal Condon, will provide information and demonstrate protection techniques to help your plants better endure tough winter weather. Lots of useful winter protection components have become available over the last couple of years, and Mal is always evaluating these improved products and is eager to share his newest techniques and developments. He’ll demonstrate step-by-step procedures, display the tools and materials discussed, and share their sources.

Cranberries: From Cape Cod to American Icon explores the impact of this humble berry across Cape Cod’s history. Come explore how the cranberry has shaped the people, culture, and natural landscape of Southeastern Massachusetts, from its historic use by the Wampanoag people to its modern sale worldwide by companies like Ocean Spray.
Now on exhibit through October 18.
