Heritage is excited to be the host site for the Classic Car Club of America New England Region’s Games Day event, where drivers and their navigators will test their skills and abilities on the Parade Field. Spectators will be treated to a rare opportunity to watch as registered vehicles compete in classic skills games like the Car Egg Run, Slalom Bean Bag Toss, Blind Figure Eight Course, and Car Soccer. Drop in to check out classic cars in action or bring a blanket or chair to enjoy watching all the fun of friendly competition!

Heritage is proud to host this premier event, showcasing spectacular automobiles. Only Full Classics will be featured on the show field, which are defined by the Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) as a fine or distinctive American or foreign automobiles built between 1915-1948, characterized by high original price, limited production, superior engineering, custom coachwork, and luxury features, excluding mass produced cars. These cars were the top-of-the-line when new, with features like custom bodies, large engines, or automatic chassis lubrication, and are distinct from other older vehicles. Visitors are encouraged to view the cars on display, interact with auto owners, and enjoy the parade of cars at the end of the show.

Here is something so super cool for ...

This in from the students and faculty at The Hundred Acres School:

"Last spring, you may remember a post about a Luna moth spotted at the school. Soon after, one of our amazing cleaners from Corporate Cleaners searched the area, found the Luna moth eggs, and when they hatched, he returned five tiny caterpillars to us.
Our students carefully observed the caterpillars as they munched on greens collected from the museum grounds before eventually creating their cocoons. Because it was late in the season, the cocoons entered a resting stage called diapause. Over the winter, these special cocoons lived safely in the School Director’s garage so that they would experience all winter temperatures in a protective setting, needing only an occasional misting of water.
Over the weekend, all five cocoons emerged as beautiful Luna moths! The moths have already laid eggs in their habitat, allowing us to continue observing the next generation in the Luna moth life cycle. Today, all five moths were released into the wild in the school gardens.
Hands-on STEM learning at The Hundred Acre School is not a one-time activity; it is part of our philosophy. We encourage students to observe their environment, patiently wait for the magic of nature to unfold, wonder why things happen, and think deeply about how they can care for and positively impact the many living plants and creatures around them each and every day."

During this exclusive, after-hours program you are invited to go behind the scenes into Heritage’s auto storage area and maintenance garage and to get face-to-fender with these fascinating vehicles.

This month’s program highlights the 1910 Cadillac Model 30 Roadster and the 1927 LaSalle Sport Phaeton.
