It’s always nice when a friend comes back to town, especially when he brings his sketchbook.

We caught up with John Donohue last week as he added a couple more St. Helena neighbors to his growing portrait of Napa Valley, stopping by Flora Springs Winery and Market St. Helena to sketch them in his signature style.

You can see John’s All the Restaurants of Napa Valley exhibition now at The MAC, with prints from across the Valley available for purchase. And soon, Flora Springs and Market will be joining the collection, too.

Thanks for the visit, John. We’re always happy to see Napa Valley through your pen. ✍️

“What’s it like being part of the Wyeth family?”

Victoria Wyeth puts it best: they’re a family like any other, they just happen to have an extraordinary ability to paint.

Hear from Victoria herself, then come see The Wyeths: Three Generations and her own exhibition, My Andy, at The MAC in St. Helena.

Sometimes a window is just a window.

That’s one of the takeaways from Victoria Wyeth’s recent visit to The MAC, captured in a new St Helena Star feature about The Wyeths: Three Generations.

Victoria began interviewing and recording her family at just 14 years old, and more than three decades later, she brings a perspective on their work that you won’t find in an art history textbook. Her grandfather Andrew, she explains, painted his life: “friends, family, places he loved. It’s simple, simple.”

From the thousands of tiny brushstrokes in Andrew Wyeth’s Antler Crown to the stories behind the subjects that inspired three generations of artists, the article offers a wonderful glimpse into the details worth looking closer at when you visit.

Thank you to the St. Helena Star for joining us and sharing Victoria’s stories with its readers. Read the full feature, then come see the works up close for yourself.

A masterclass made even better with a glass of Napa Valley wine in hand 🍷

Victoria Wyeth Weekend brought so many memorable moments to The MAC, including an intimate masterclass with Victoria herself, filled with stories, conversation, art, and a closer look at the family behind The Wyeths: Three Generations.

A very special thank you to Domaine Carneros Winery for so generously sponsoring the wine for the event. Their incredible support helped us welcome our guests in true Napa Valley fashion, and kept the glasses full throughout a very special evening.

We’re so grateful to Domaine Carneros for supporting The MAC and helping us create experiences like this for our community. Cheers to wonderful partners, great wine, and an evening we won’t soon forget! 🥂

When N.C. Wyeth illustrated The Odyssey in 1929, he wasn't given any instruction about which moments to paint.

That makes this series more than an interpretation of Homer's epic - it becomes a window into Wyeth's imagination. The scenes he brought to life reveal what captivated him most: the violence of the sea, the strength and vulnerability of the human figure, and the dramatic interplay of light and shadow.

Among these ten illustrations, one stood above the rest in Wyeth's own eyes: The Sirens.

"This illustration gives me more satisfaction than any one of the others of this series from the standpoint of design, ex*****on and dramatic expression."

With renewed excitement surrounding The Odyssey, it's the perfect time to rediscover the work of one of America's greatest illustrators. While these iconic images tell one chapter of N.C. Wyeth's artistic legacy, you can experience even more of his extraordinary work in The Wyeths: Three Generations at The MAC.

Come explore original paintings and illustrations by N.C. Wyeth alongside works by Andrew and Jamie Wyeth, and discover the artistic legacy that shaped three generations of one of America's most celebrated families.

The Wyeths: Three Generations is on view now through September 13. Tickets at napavalleymuseum.org/blogs/exhibitions/the-wyeths-three-generations-works-from-the-bank-of-america-collection.

There’s something special about hearing the stories behind the art from someone who knows them by heart.

This past weekend, we had the privilege of welcoming Victoria Wyeth to The MAC for a weekend filled with gallery tours, fascinating family stories, plenty of humor, and a closer look at the artists behind The Wyeths: Three Generations.

A huge thank you to Victoria for bringing the Wyeth family’s history to life, and to everyone who joined us for such a memorable weekend.

Missed it? You still have time to see The Wyeths: Three Generations for yourself. The exhibition is on view at The MAC through September 13.

Beautiful things are happening right next door. ✨

A huge congratulations to our neighbors at Flora Springs Winery on the reopening of their beautifully reimagined tasting room. The thoughtful redesign is a work of art in its own right, and we're so excited to see this new chapter come to life.

One of the things we love most about being part of St. Helena is sharing this creative community with incredible neighbors. Whether you're stopping by The MAC for The Wyeths: Three Generations or heading to Flora Springs for a tasting, it's the perfect excuse to make an afternoon of exploring both.

We can't wait to welcome visitors together for years to come! Book a tasting at florasprings.com ✨

Skip the usual wine tasting.

A museum date might just be one of Napa Valley's most underrated ways to spend an afternoon.

Tag the person you're taking on your next museum day to The MAC. ❤️
