What’s Happening?

Live demos • Local art • Snacks • Studio tour maps

Spend the day exploring Richmond’s ceramic arts community! We will have live demonstrations from some of the area’s top ceramic artists and you can get an inside look at how their work comes to life.

Throughout the weekend, we will be demonstrating:

* Wheel throwing
* Underglaze transfers
* Teapot construction
* Outdoor lantern building
* Throwing Big Hug pots and more
*
There will be 10 of us, local ceramic artists, bring on the questions and browse a gallery featuring the work of more than 30 Virginia artists.

Be sure to pick up a free self-guided studio tour brochure before heading out to explore the other 21 participating studios.

We will have coffee, refreshments, and light snacks while you visit and enjoy the art.

Studio Space Available for a Ceramic Artist

We have a studio opening in our shared Maker’s Studio + Gallery — an ideal next step for established or emerging ceramic artists looking to deepen their practice without the overhead of a private studio build-out.

This is a working gallery, not a classroom. The space is quiet, focused, and designed for serious making. Our community includes 10 dedicated ceramic artists working in small batches. We’re collaborative, sustainability-minded, and share responsibilities to keep the space running smoothly.
What’s included:✔️ 24/7 access✔️ Parking + security✔️ High-speed WiFi✔️ Shared kilns + slab roller✔️ Opportunity to sell in the gallery✔️ Hands-on gallery management experience

The space is full of natural light and skylights — bright, energizing, and built to support creative flow. Visitors can observe artists at work, offering a rare and meaningful way to connect your process with the public.

If you’re ready to grow your practice in a supportive, working gallery environment, let’s talk.📞 Call us at 804-775-0832 or DM to set up a visit.

Purrr!

This mid-century kitty once ruled the 1950s art world and is now making a stylish comeback in contemporary ceramics and mixed media. Inspired by classic atomic/mod design, this cat—by Lesa Fleet—is rendered in sgraffito on a 10” ceramic plate.
