This Saturday May 30th, 10am, we will be taking up the flags (the red capped ones) that we put on the veteran’s graves at Richmond Cemetery so that we can use them again next year. We could use all the volunteers that we can get. We will meet at the flag pole by the Summit St. entrance. Come on out and get your steps in. 🫡

The halyards on our flag poles at Richmond Battlefield Park were replaced last week, so we were able to follow the US Flag Code protocol of having our flags at half mast from dawn till Noon and then they were raised to full peak for the remainder of the day.

This is the only day of the year the code calls for the United States Flag to be in multiple heights during the same day.

The Pleasant View house at 1564 Battlefield Memorial Highway remains open Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 2 PM during the Visitor’s Center refurbishment, thanks to our BORA Board members and volunteers. The porch is being repaired, so enter the house through the rear porch entrance, around the house to the left.
