This Saturday, October 3rd, we will have some special activities for kids in the Fort. There will be a scavenger hunt, butter churning, fire starting, wool carding and other activities geared toward our younger guests. Some of these will be hands on for them to try. This is free with regular fort admission of $8.00 for adults, $5 for children 6-12 and free for children 5 and under. The fort is open from 9-4:45pm with the last ticket sold at 4:00pm.

It’s NOT TOO LATE to make plans to camp and participate in the reenactment of the Great Siege of 1778 at Fort Boonesborough State Park this weekend, Sept. 18-20. Battle takes place Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm as we reenact scenarios that occurred during the 11 day siege. Wood, water, ice & restrooms are provided along with a simple meal for Reenactors on Saturday evening. Period camping in and around the fort with setup on Friday. If you need early set up, please contact in advance. Pre-registration is encouraged but not required. Reenactor guidelines are available on our website along with a link to our registration form. If you have not previously attended a reenactment at Boonesborough, please email a photo of yourself in kit, preferably with your camp. This is an 1778 frontier event so please remember time and place in regards to clothing and accoutrements. September is here so mark your calendar for the 19th and 20th and make plans to visit Fort Boonesborough State Park and the re-enactment of the 1778 Siege. All parking is in the KY388 lot across from the entrance to the picnic area with free shuttles provided to the Fort. Admission: Adults $8.00, Seniors and Children 6-12 $5.00, 5 and under are free. Gates open at 9:00am. Come early and enjoy the cabins, visit the interpreters, see the video, visit the camps and traders, have lunch, and enjoy the battle each day at 2:00pm.

Siege Reenactors: we look forward to seeing you Sept. 18-20. Wood, water, ice and toilets will be provided. The Fort Boonesborough Foundation will serve a simple breakfast each morning for a donation. Coffee available all day for Reenactors. Lunch concessions will be sold Saturday and Sunday for the public and Reenactors. There will be a meal provided Saturday evening for Reenactors followed by a memorial for our beloved former fort manager, Bill Farmer. SAVE the DATE: Fort Boonesborough State Park Siege Re-enactment weekend Sept.19 and 20, 2026. Join us as history comes alive, visit the re-enactor camps, hear the ring of the blacksmith hammer at the forge, visit the fort cabins and enjoy a glimpse of pioneer life.
