Heather Norton, our President/CEO recently had the opportunity to host a tour of the museum with four generations of the Wells Family. The Terry Lee Wells Foundation, started in 1999 by Reno native Terry Lee Wells, provided more than $8 million in funding to support the museum prior to and after opening.

We remain incredibly grateful for the Foundation’s support that was instrumental in making The Discovery a reality in Northern Nevada.

The Discovery will be closed Monday, June 8 for exhibit and facilities maintenance. The museum will reopen and resume normal operating hours on Tuesday, June 9 at 10:00am.

Join our friends from PBS Reno tomorrow here at The Discovery to explore with PBS KIDS’ “Ready Jet Go!” Families will work together to build a rocket, learn about constellations, make space slime, and more.

Please note: From 9:00 to 10:00am, this activity is offered as part of The Discovery’s Small Wonder Wednesday program and is limited to attendees ages 5 and under.
