Sunday morning at the gallery. šŸ’™

It’s a little gray and gloomy outside today, but honestly, we love Lake Erie this way, too.

The door’s open, the gallery is quiet, and I’m doing what I always do… walking around looking at things like I haven’t seen them a hundred times already. šŸ˜‚

There’s always something I notice differently.

So come wander with me for a minute.

No sunshine required. 🌊

Things are getting a little wild around here…

Apparently, if it flies, swims, wades around the shoreline or just looks really good hanging on a wall, there’s a pretty good chance one of our artists has made it.

And we love seeing how differently they do it.

A heron painted on canvas looks completely different when another artist builds one out of individual pieces of glass. An eagle can feel quiet and powerful in one piece and like it’s about to fly right off the wall in another.

And yes, before anyone says it…

We know there are turtles in there again. šŸ¢šŸ˜‚
We may be a tiny bit obsessed.

That’s part of what makes walking through LEAC fun. There isn’t one style, one medium or one version of what ā€œlake-inspiredā€ art is supposed to look like.

It’s a whole bunch of artists making what they love and somehow, it all works together.

So now we need to know: are you team šŸ¦…, šŸŽ£ or 🐢?

Drop yours below. And if you’ve been in the gallery, tell us which piece speaks to you!

There’s something special about taking a little time to wander, look around, and enjoy all the creativity that makes Port Clinton, Ohio such a fun place to be.
At Lake Erie Art Collective, you’ll find all kinds of creative expressions from our local artists including a charming collection of turtles! Each one is a little different and has a personality all its own.
There’s always something that catches your eye when you take a moment to slow down and look around.
And with all the weekend fun happening at the Tracy Colston Stage in downtown Port Clinton, it’s a great weekend to enjoy a little art, a little music, and a whole lot of community.
Lake Erie Art Collective is located between The Brick House and Beyoutiful,

There is something special about art made by hand. Wood shaped with care. Jewelry created with meaning. Glass transformed by imagination. Candles crafted to bring warmth and a little glow. Watercolor bringing a moment to life and so much more.
This is what Lake Erie Art Collective is built on: a love for the lake, a love for creating, and the joy of bringing those two together.
Take a moment to slow down, look closely, and discover the beauty created by local makers with their hands, their hearts, and their love for what they do.

Apparently, you don’t have to be an artist to become part of the Lake Erie Art Collective. You just need giant paws, short legs, a love of Lake Erie and a willingness to work for cheese. šŸ¾šŸ˜‚

Meet Duke + Winston, the art dogs of LEAC.

Duke is 160lbs Bloodhound, full of anxiety and an impressive amount of slobber! Looks like he could guard the entire gallery and is afraid of his own shadow. His personal philosophy is ā€œif I fits, I sitsā€with absolutely no consideration given…

Then there’s Winston. Six-inch legs with six-foot attitude. Professional splooter. Expert cheese negotiator. And if cheese appears, Winston will sit upright on his butt like a tiny person and stare into your soul until you reconsider your portion size.
Both suffer from a fairly serious case of short-man syndrome. They love fruit and cheese almost as much as I do, believe every car ride should end somewhere interesting, and have never encountered a snack they weren’t willing to investigate. But these two are also very much Lake Erie dogs.
They come to the gallery. They camp with us. They walk Waterworks Park and the beach in Port Clinton. They love Kelleys Island. And some of my favorite days are simply all of us somewhere along the lake.

They’ve even experienced the very best of our local community firsthand, including the day we managed to get locked out and thethreeleggeddog2025 came to the rescue and took care of the humans and the pups. šŸ˜‚ Thank you šŸ’™

Lake Erie Art Collective is obviously about the incredible work our artists create. But what inspires that work comes from something bigger. It’s the lake. The towns. The people. The small businesses. The friendships. The dogs. The stories. And the life we build here.

Duke and Winston are part of mine. šŸ’™

So for National Dog Day, we want to meet the dogs who are part of yours.

🐾 Show us your Lake Erie dogs. Tag in your lake-day photos, or tell us their name + favorite Lake Erie adventure below.

Happy Dog Day from Duke, Winston + all of us at Lake Erie Art Collective. 🌊🐾

Along the Shore of Lake Erie there’s something special about living here. It’s more than the beauty we see; it’s the stories, memories, traditions, and sense of community that connect us.
Through the eyes and hearts of our local artists, our history comes to life with pride. Their work captures the landmarks, traditions, and cherished moments that make this area so meaningful and reflects the way Lake Erie has captured all our hearts.
What do YOU love most about living along the lake?

MEET THE ARTISTS | Holly + Jason Snider Leisurely Lakeside
There is something about a lake day that stays with you.

The warm breeze. Gentle waves. No need to rush anywhere. And that feeling is at the heart of what Holly and Jason create with Leisurely Lakeside.

Their love of the Great Lakes runs deep. They were married beside Lake Michigan, spend their time along Lake Erie, and make a point to visit one of their favorite places, Marblehead Lighthouse, several times every year.

And their work has grown right alongside that love of the lake.

Jason turns wood by hand, creating everything from lighthouses and candleholders to bowls and other one-of-a-kind pieces. Holly brings color, painting and her own creative eye to their collection. Together, they also hunt for vintage nautical treasures that feel like they already have a story to tell.

What started with buoys, lake blocks and a few turned pieces has slowly evolved into the coastal, cozy collection you see today.

But when we asked Holly and Jason about their favorite Lake Erie memory, their answer wasn’t a place or a particular summer day.

It was the people.

The friendships made at summer markets. The familiar faces they return to each year. And the community of artists and small businesses who understand what it means to keep showing up, creating and building something with your own two hands.

They called it ā€œa special club.ā€

We couldn’t agree more. šŸ’™

Holly and Jason hope their work gives you a little of what the lake gives them calm, peace, serenity and nostalgia.

Or, as they put it so perfectly:

ā€œWe hope it takes them back to lake days where the breezes were warm, the waves were gentle, and the times were forgiving.ā€

That’s Leisurely Lakeside.

And that’s exactly the kind of story we love sharing at the Lake Erie Art Collective.

Inspired by their story. Curated by the lake. 🌊
