Vintage Wings and Wheels Museum Our mission at Vintage Wings and Wheels is to preserve and communicate transportation heritage.

Our museum campus has an assortment of historical buildings. The queen of the campus is the Waukesha Hangar, a reclaimed 1937 airplane hangar which houses our unique museum. Outside you can also visit our historic Slim's Garage, "fill up" at our historic Sunoco Gas Station, or just take in the beauty of our pastoral landscape while experiencing the thrill of airplanes taking off nearby. The Poplar Grove Vintage Wings and Wheels Museum is a great place to visit again and again for new exhibits and events throughout the year. Be sure to check us out during our open season (April 1st to December 31st) and see for yourself why we are a great historical and cultural center for the community, the county, and beyond.

Great backdrop for a Classic 1954 Cessna 195
Our second Harvest Host. Super kind and helpful hostesses, Trudy and Judy and their 2 Irish terriers greeted us. Judy was more than happy to inform us as we toured an outstanding collection of well documented photos, history and artifacts on the history of flight, including a collection of flight attendant uniforms, actual vehicles and Slim’s Garage, housing vintage cars, tools and other paraphernalia. We spent a quiet and private night on the grounds. Many thanks for your hospitality!
Do you all still have a WWII event?
We hit a mile stone last night on the YEA (Youth Exploring Aviation) Aeronca Chief (65CA) restoration project. Our AP IA stopped by for a visit and blessed (approved) all the work that has been completed on the Empanage ( tail feathers) of the plane. All control surfaces secured and connected, travels verified, and all cotter pins and safety items in place. Now its time to move to the front end and start putting the engine on and get it all plumbed.
Our kids at YEA have been busy... here are some pictures from masking the Fuselage on the Chief project for painting the trim, and what it looks like in the paint booth...
Murder Mystery dinner is now sold out for Saturday - Sunday almost full!
Grrrrrr, getting ready for the show!
