Boone County Museum of History Admission to the Museum is on a free will donation basis.

The mission of the Boone County Historical Society is to stimulate interest in Boone County history through education, research, collection, and preservation of artifacts and archival materials.

Join us, the Main Street Players of Boone County, and the Belvidere Cemetery on October 25th for a cemetery walk to honor Boone County’s servicemen and women! This walk will discuss veterans from all major American wars and what life was like on the homefront. This is a free tour but donations are always accepted. Tours will be held at 1pm, 1:30pm, 2pm, and 2:30pm at Belvidere Cemetery. We hope to see you there!

Our panel of judges have chosen “Forever Connected” by Suzanne Black as the winner of the 2026 Quilt Show!

The quilters had the option of entering a judged category this year and our judges could not take their eyes off of this Civil War era style quilt.

Thank you to every quilter who displayed their works of art this year. It was truly incredible to see the talent our community has.

There are only a few days left to see the Quilt Show and purchase raffle tickets!

The QUILT SHOW's closing reception is Sept 26th from 1-3PM. This will be your last chance to see all of these beautiful quilts on display!

The QUILT RAFFLE is selling tickets NOW. Tickets cost $5 each or $20 for 5 tickets. Ticket sales will conclude on Friday, Sept 25th at 4PM. The Museum will choose and announce the winners at the closing reception of the Quilt Show on Sept 26th.

Quilts galore!

The Boone County Historical Society’s Quilt Show starts TODAY! These beautiful and locally made quilts will be on display from today, September 5th until September 26th! Stop by and see all of these incredible works of art!

We are all raffling off TWO quilts as a fundraiser for the museum! Two locally made quilts were graciously donated to the society and will be on display during the month of September. We will pick a winner for each quilt on September 26th, at the closing for the quilt show. Raffle tickets cost $5 per ticket or $20 for 5.

The official opening reception is today from 1-3pm. You can peruse the quilts, enjoy light refreshments, and purchase raffle tickets!
