PAL Scholarship Fundraiser — Postponed Until 2027

Hello PAL Members,

I wanted to let you know that after careful consideration, the PAL Board has made the decision to postpone our Scholarship Fundraiser concert featuring Aja Vu/Stealin’ Chicago, originally scheduled for September 4 at the Firehouse Arts Center.

Rather than move forward with the event over Labor Day weekend, we have decided to bring the concert back next year, tentatively in October, when PAL’s Members’ Show will also be on display at the Firehouse. This will give us additional time to pursue corporate sponsors and donors, expand our outreach, and build an even stronger event around our goal of supporting scholarships for young artists.

The band has been wonderfully supportive and has agreed to work with PAL on rescheduling the concert. In speaking with the bandleader, we also learned that Labor Day weekend has historically been a difficult weekend for concert attendance.

For those who purchased tickets, the Firehouse will be issuing refunds and refund information will be sent directly to ticket holders.

Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets, helped spread the word, volunteered, entered artwork, or otherwise supported this effort. Your support has been greatly appreciated.

Our commitment to building PAL’s scholarship program has not changed. We learned a great deal from this first effort, and we now have the opportunity to use what we learned to create a stronger fundraiser next year.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support of PAL.

At the Pleasanton Art League (PAL), we wish to strengthen our support for the next generation of artists. On Sept. 4, PAL will host its first Scholarship Fundraiser Event at the Firehouse Arts Center, featuring live music by a Chicago and Steely Dan tribute band. Proceeds from the evening will provide scholarships to help Pleasanton High School seniors pursue their educational goals and further develop their artistic talents.

We hope many of you will attend. Together, we will help ensure that future generations of artists have the encouragement and opportunities they need to thrive.
