🕶️ Noirvember is back—with a twist. This year, we’re trading black-and-white for a little more color.

Our Color of Noir film series dives into the dark, twisted, and unpredictable side of cinema, featuring four standout films that prove noir looks good in every shade.

🎞️ Chinatown — A private investigator uncovers a web of corruption, scandal, and deadly secrets in sun-soaked 1930s Los Angeles.

🔪 Blood Simple — Jealousy, deception, and murder collide in the Coen Brothers’ razor-sharp debut.

🧩 Memento — A man with short-term memory loss hunts for his wife’s killer in Christopher Nolan’s mind-bending thriller, where nothing is quite as it seems.

🌃 Drive — Ryan Gosling stars as a getaway driver drawn into a dangerous heist in this neon-lit, synth-scored thriller.

Four films. Countless shadows. A whole new palette of noir.

“Mediocrity is not allowed in the kingdom of genius.” 🎶 Presenting AMADEUS (1984) on Wednesday, October 28, at Phoenix Art Museum, in collaboration with Southwest Shakespeare Company.

Sumptuous, irreverent, and filled with immortal music, Miloš Forman’s adaptation of Peter Shaffer’s acclaimed play tells the story of the rivalry between musical prodigy Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and court composer Antonio Salieri. As Salieri grows increasingly consumed by jealousy over Mozart’s extraordinary talent, he devises a scheme that threatens to destroy them both.

Winner of eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, Amadeus is a lavish tale of genius, ambition, and treachery that brings one of classical music’s most legendary rivalries to the screen.

“Let them eat cake.” 🎂✨

Step inside Sofia Coppola’s candy-colored Versailles with MARIE ANTOINETTE (2006), screening Wednesday, October 7 at Phoenix Art Museum.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Coppola’s exuberantly stylized take on the infamous—and perhaps misunderstood—French queen stars Kirsten Dunst as a teenage Marie Antoinette, thrust into the extravagance, isolation, and intrigue of the royal court at Versailles.

With lavish, Academy Award-winning costumes, a dreamy synth-pop soundtrack, and yes, a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it pair of Converse sneakers, MARIE ANTOINETTE transforms an 18th-century period piece into something that feels distinctly modern. 👑🍰

🍿 Concessions available! Grab popcorn, soda, and candy to enjoy during the film.
