What an incredible week at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026! Warbirds in Review extends our sincere thanks to ScottsMiracle-Gro and the Fagen Fighters WWII Museum for their generous support, which helped make this year’s program a tremendous success. A special shout-out goes to the talented team at Fagen Restoration for their meticulous restoration of the historic P-51D Mustang “Jane VI,” which took center stage during Wednesday morning’s Warbirds in Review presentation. Pictured are Ron and Diane Fagen, Connie Bowlin, Brig. Gen. (Ret) Ed McIlhenny, Alex Fafinski, Evan Fagen, and “Jane VI” owner and pilot Sebastien Domine—individuals whose dedication to preserving and sharing aviation history helped make this presentation and the entire week so memorable. The support of ScottsMiracle-Gro and the Fagen Fighters WWII Museum helps Warbirds in Review continue sharing the aircraft, veterans, and personal stories that connect new generations with our history. Another Look at a Special Tribute to Bud Anderson
Take another look at the unveiling of the Brig. Gen. Bud Anderson statue in the Bud Anderson Memorial Garden at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. Connie Bowlin was the driving force behind bringing this lasting tribute to Bud to life, with Bud’s son, Jim Anderson, and members of the Warbirds of America Board of Directors in attendance for this memorable occasion. This tribute would not have been possible without the generous support of our donors, whose commitment helped make the statue a reality. Surrounded by family, friends, fellow aviators, and members of the Warbirds community, the statue was unveiled as a lasting tribute to Bud’s remarkable life, service, and legacy in American aviation.

In celebration of the unveiling of the Brig. Gen. C.E. “Bud” Anderson statue, Warbirds in Review has partnered with Special Tribute Spirits to offer a handcrafted commemorative aviation decanter honoring Bud’s extraordinary life and legacy.

Created using authentic aircraft tools and materials, this distinctive decanter features an iconic photograph of Bud standing proudly in front of one of his beloved “Old Crow” Mustangs, along with a reproduction of his signature, graciously authorized by the Anderson family.

More than a collectible, each decanter is a personal tribute to Bud Anderson and helps support the continued mission of Warbirds in Review. Special Tribute Spirits is generously donating 100% of the proceeds to Warbirds in Review.

The veterans will be marching at 1PM to Boeing Plaza for a ceremony.

Help us celebrate their service, sacrifice, and legacy as we pay tribute to our veterans. We hope to see you there!

The Vietnam War became known as the world's first true "Helicopter War," forever changing modern combat.

Three helicopters tell that story: the Hiller OH-23 Raven, Sikorsky UH-34D Seahorse, and the legendary Bell UH-1 Huey. Each marked a major step in the evolution of battlefield aviation.

The OH-23 pioneered reconnaissance and artillery spotting, proving helicopters could transform ground warfare. The rugged UH-34D became the U.S. Marine Corps' workhorse, carrying troops, evacuating casualties, and supplying front-line forces. Their success paved the way for the iconic Huey, which came to symbolize the Vietnam War itself.

Together, these helicopters didn't just support the fight—they revolutionized how wars would be fought for generations to come.

A rare piece of naval aviation history is on display in the Warbirds Area at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026! The Consolidated PB4Y-2 Privateer was developed from the B-24 Liberator as a long-range U.S. Navy patrol bomber, serving during World War II and the Korean War. With its distinctive single vertical tail and imposing four-engine profile, the Privateer was built for long-range patrol, reconnaissance, and attack missions over vast stretches of ocean. As the world’s last remaining airworthy PB4Y-2 Privateer, its appearance in the Warbirds Area gives AirVenture visitors an extraordinary opportunity to get up close to a true survivor of American naval aviation history. Be sure to stop by Warbirds and see this remarkable aircraft!
