Sometimes the right people show up at exactly the right time. And damn, are we grateful for these humans.
Well, folks, Pop Smoke K9 for Veterans finally has a cargo van of our own!
This one took some good people coming together, and I want to make sure every single one of them knows how much this means to us.
First, a HUGE thank you to Amazon for donating the funds that made purchasing this van possible. For a small nonprofit like ours, something like this is a big damn deal. We donāt have endless funding or a fleet of vehicles sitting around. We make things work with what weāve got, and this van is going to make a difference in what weāre able to do for our veterans and service dogs.
Next, David and Tammy Johnson with City Wide Plumbing out of Acworth, Georgia. These two are just genuinely good humans. They love our veterans, believe in what weāre doing, and didnāt hesitate to help. They discounted this van so we could actually afford to bring it home. They didnāt have to do that. They could have sold it for more money somewhere else, but instead they chose to help a small veteran nonprofit. That says a hell of a lot about the kind of people they are.
And last, but absolutely not least, Ben and Jessica Owen with We Fight Monsters.
I donāt even know where to start with these two. They have become so much more than people we know through another nonprofit. Theyāre the kind of humans who see a need and start figuring out how to make something happen. Theyāre the reason we were connected with David and Tammy in the first place.
Ben and Jessica, thank you for always finding ways to help, for making connections, and for being the kind of friends who genuinely give a s**t about other people. You two have some pretty incredible hearts.
I think sometimes we get so caught up in all the ugly crap going on in this world that we forget there are still some really good people walking around in it.
Well, hereās your reminder.
Amazon gave us the opportunity. David and Tammy made it affordable. Ben and Jessica brought the right people together.
And because of all of them, Pop Smoke K9 has another tool to keep doing what we do.
This isnāt just a white cargo van sitting in a driveway. Itās going to haul dogs, equipment, supplies, and whatever else we need to keep showing up for veterans who need us.
To every single person who helped make this happen, thank you. From the bottom of my heart.
Good humans still exist. And weāre damn lucky to have some of them in our corner.
We Fight Monsters
