We are thrilled to welcome Sara Ellet as our new Coordinator of Gifted STEM Education! She will start with us on August 1st. Sara brings more than 13 years of teaching experience in northwest Ohio to her work as an educator and leader in science learning. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Arkansas and a Master’s in Reading Education from Grand Canyon University. Throughout her career, Sara has been recognized for her innovative approach to instruction and her commitment to creating meaningful, engaging learning experiences for students.
With a passion for creativity and hands-on discovery, Sara has spent the past decade organizing schoolwide science fairs and STEAM nights, as well as designing memorable opportunities for students to connect with science in authentic ways. Her work has included spring classroom projects such as hatching chicks and butterflies, as well as fall activities like monitoring the bear cams at Katmai National Park, all aimed at inspiring curiosity and excitement for learning.
Outside of the classroom, Sara enjoys exploring her interest in earth and space science through storm chasing, aurora viewing, and night sky observation. She also values creative expression through baking, crafting, and a wide variety of artistic projects. Above all, Sara treasures time with her husband, Ross, and their adult twin sons, Bryce and Simon.
