Check out this vintage promotional trade postcard from our collection, dating back to the early 1900s for Almoco Coffee.

Produced by Baltimore’s Levering Coffee Company (founded in 1842), Almoco was a staple in general stores across the Mid-Atlantic. In an era before digital media, companies relied on printed trade cards like this one—often featuring trustworthy local personas like "Harry"—to build brand loyalty with neighborhood shoppers.

Early 1900s vacationers and locals right here in Worcester County drank Levering coffees like Almoco. Shipped across the Chesapeake Bay from Baltimore by steamship and brought into Ocean City by rail, packaged coffees were a staple on local general store shelves and hotel breakfast tables across the Eastern Shore.
