Fernanda Martínez is an Oakland-based painter, muralist, and sculptor whose vibrant, expressive work draws from memories and observations of nature. Born and raised in Mexico City, she moved to the Bay Area in 2015, where she has developed an experimental and intuitive practice exploring the emotional depth of color, form, pattern, and texture. Her work spans painting, sculpture, murals, and public art, transforming her distinctive visual language across two- and three-dimensional forms. Martinez has exhibited her paintings and sculptures in galleries and has collaborated on numerous public art projects for businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community-focused and affordable housing developments.

Big Small and Everything In Between is a group exhibition featuring Bay Area artists known for their work in public spaces. Together, their work reveals the range and vitality of Bay Area mural painting today, as well as the ongoing conversation among the street, the studio, and the city.

With more than sixty public artworks completed across the United States and abroad, her detailed and colorful murals transform spaces through stories of flora, fauna, femininity, and human connection.

Amos Goldbaum is a San Francisco–based visual artist known for his signature line drawings, which span canvases, large-scale murals, prints, and apparel. Inspired by the places and everyday scenes around him, his work combines multiple viewpoints, angles, and moments in time into cohesive compositions connected by a singular line. His murals can be found throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and in cities around the world, including New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, Tokyo, and Kathmandu.

Art meets performance in Uptown Oakland!

Saturday, October 10 is the Live Art Walk, a guided walking tour through some of Uptown Oakland’s galleries and creative spaces, presented in collaboration with Visit Oakland as part of Oakland Style Week. Follow link for tickets.

Spend time with the exhibitions and artists that make up Oakland’s cultural landscape. Along the way, live performances will enter the gallery experience, bringing music, dance, comedy, and art making into conversation with the work on view.

The afternoon will take us through FM Oakland, Manna Gallery, Mercury 20, inStudio @ Empowerment Avenue, and Johansson Projects. Together, these spaces will introduce visitors to work by more than 20 exhibiting artists, from contemporary portraiture and abstract quilting to painting and work examining incarceration, memory, history, and liberation.

Join us on Saturday October 3rd for an artists reception. Big Small and Everything In Between is a group show of Bay Area muralists. Drawing on the region’s rich tradition of mural making, the exhibition brings the work of Julie Engelmann, Amos Goldbaum, Liv Losee-Unger, Fernanda Martínez, and Deirdre Weinberg into the gallery for a more intimate encounter. Style means art, and Oakland has plenty of both. As part of Oakland Style Week, Oakland Art Murmur invites you on the Live Art Walk, a specially curated walking tour through Uptown Oakland’s most vibrant art spaces, each one showcasing incredible work by local artists. This is not your usual art tour. Art meets performance: dance, music, live art making, and more,woven right into the gallery experience. In the gallery! Tanna Samone Hall - hosts your day and takes the stage for a stand-up comedy set - is an Oakland raised comedian, storyteller, host, artist, educator, and community correspondent for Oakland Voices. She is passionate about community service and has worked as a lifeguard, firefighter, and educator. Her comedy and storytelling is derived from her experiences in these fields and growing up in the Bay Area.

Manna Gallery is pleased to present Big Small and Everything In Between, a group exhibition featuring Bay Area artists known for their work in public spaces. Drawing on the region’s rich tradition of mural making, the exhibition brings the work of Julie Engelmann, Amos Goldbaum, Liv Losee-Unger, Fernanda Martínez, and Deirdre Weinberg into the gallery for a more intimate encounter. Working across painting, drawing, illustration, street art, and large-scale public works, these artists bring distinct approaches to color, storytelling, nature, place, and community. Together, their work reveals the range and vitality of Bay Area mural painting today, as well as the ongoing conversation among the street, the studio, and the city.
