Mercury 20 Gallery invites submissions for our third annual juried exhibition

This exhibition will investigate how time is experienced, marked, and recorded—through physical landscapes, shifting rhythms, memory, and material traces. Selected works will explore layered narratives of change, continuity, and transformation. Artists are encouraged to interpret this theme broadly and in their own distinctive ways, using a variety of artistic mediums including painting, sculpture, collage, photography, and mixed media.

About the juror:

Minoosh Zomorodinia is an Iranian-born interdisciplinary artist, educator, and curator based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Through psychogeography and daily rituals, her work documents time and movement across landscapes to challenge colonial histories, redefine borders, and highlight ecological interconnectedness. She’s received awards and residencies from YBCA 100, the Warhol Foundation, Headlands Center for the Arts, and Recology. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and featured in the Chronicle, Hyperallergic, and KQED.

The weaving workshop is cancelled due to the weather, but there is still a lot of great art to see. We will be open as per usual, noon-5 on Saturday November 23rd. Come see Jill McKlennan and Dalar Alahverdi's solo shows, each poignant in their exploration of the challenging times we are living in.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience some of you are facing with submitting through EntryThingy. Due to a security certificate on the entrythingy website, that lapsed on October 31st, a warning appears fairly regularly when accessing their website. Direct links from Instagram may also be blocked. Unfortunately, EntryThingy has been unresponsive to our calls for them to update this certificate. This issue is out of our control, but we're doing our best to support you.

Here’s a workaround:
1. Click “Advanced” on the warning page.
2. Then, select “Proceed to [unsafe link]” to access EntryThingy.

Please note that PayPal securely handles all payments through EntryThingy, ensuring your financial information is protected.
We’re not able to officially recommend this workaround, but wanted to inform you of the option. If you’re still unable to submit, don’t worry—we’ll reach out to those who contacted us, and we’re preparing an alternative Google Form option.
To make up for the trouble, we’re extending the submission deadline by 2 more days to Sunday, November 10th. Thank you for your patience and understanding! Please reach out with any questions.
