Ralph Thomas spent 20yrs in the U.S. Navy and is a self-taught Norfolk, VA based artist. Thomas was raised in the heart of Durham North Carolina's Southside, where his love for painting first sparked with a childhood paint-by-numbers set. "That joy turned into a lifelong God gifted talent for me to tell stories, preserve memories and give a voice to stories that are often overlooked. My art is rooted in folk tradition, but it is also deeply personal. I work primarily in oil, blending other materials like acrylic, pastel, and moss to add life to my paintings."

Nai Turner, Owner of Sideline Images, is an Artist whose humble, soft-spoken demeanor is a stark contrast to the unabashed art statements she presents to the world. A self-taught painter who classifies her style as a hybrid of realism, pop, and street art, she began painting in 2016 following a stint in the army. The craft that served as a coping mechanism for post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), has helped Turner connect with her thoughts on what is happening in the world, sharing it by way of creative expression in her work. 🔗Learn more: https://naiturner.com

"My work celebrates human expression and emotion, those fleeting, powerful moments where personality shines through. Using vibrant color and bold portraits, I capture everything from warmth to defiance. Each hue is chosen to evoke mood and energy, reflecting the intensity of human experience. I incorporate mixed media to explore identity and cultural symbolism. These elements add depth and texture, serving as modern markers of individuality. My portraits aren't just visual, they're emotional encounters that connect viewer and subject. Through the fusion of traditional portraiture and contemporary flair, I reflect a world that is bold, chaotic, and alive with contradiction. My goal is to freeze emotion in time and invite viewers to see a piece of themselves in every expression."
