Georg Karl Pfahler, born on October 8, 1926, in the quaint village of Emetzheim in Bavaria, would be celebrating his 100th birthday today. We are honored to commemorate this day. Georg Karl Pfahler
During World War II, the Academy of Nuremberg was temporarily relocated to Ellingen, a nearby town. By chance, Pfahler encountered art students sketching outside the castle. This unexpected encounter deeply moved him, and he became a regular visitor, sparking his passion for art.
Pfahler then enrolled at the Stuttgart Academy of Art, where he studied under the renowned artist W***y Baumeister. Through his studies, he developed his unique painterly language, which is now widely recognized as “hard edge.”
Throughout his life, Pfahler was captivated by the interplay of color, form, and shape. His distinctive style evolved consistently throughout his career, leaving an indelible mark on the art world.
Despite his humble beginnings, Pfahler’s journey is nothing short of remarkable. His courage and determination propelled him to achieve greatness, inspiring countless artists and leaving an enduring legacy.
