📆 What are your plans for 2028? 🤔 💭
We’re thrilled to announce that Tierra del Sol will be working with Amanda Cachia () as guest curator for our upcoming 2028 exhibition, “The Material Alchemy of Disability”. The exhibition will bring Tierra’s studio artists into dialogue with disabled artists from outside our program, creating a dynamic conversation around disability, materiality, access, and artistic practice. 🌞
📚 ✍️ Cachia is a curator, published writer, art historian, and disability arts activist-advocate who has organized twenty exhibitions devoted to the work of disabled artists. She is Professor of Practice in Museum Studies in the School of Art at the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University, as well as Affiliate Faculty in the Disability Studies B.A. program.
“The Material Alchemy of Disability” will be developed in tandem with LACMA’s 2028 exhibition Art + Disability, for which Cachia is serving as a curatorial and disability advisor. Cachia’s guest curated exhibition at Tierra del Sol Gallery, on view in West Hollywood, will also coincide with the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
We are so excited to be working with you, ! ✨ 🥳
