Old and new.
I recently pulled out this 33” diameter piece, 𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘦, made in 1995. 𝘉𝘪𝘳𝘥 was created 20 years later, while I was teaching one of my library classes.
Seeing the two together reminds me that, after all these years, the tondo form remains central to my thinking and our world.

I’m looking forward to a conversation with Alex Coma on October 30th, exploring some of the ideas that have shaped my work over the past several decades.

We’ll talk about painting in the round form, my use of gold and silver leaf, the importance of poetry in my work and more.

אlex comא and I will spend an hour in conversation, beginning at 1pm, followed by questions.

I hope you’ll join us. The conversation will also be available in Circle’s Video Archive for those who can’t make it live. Link in bio.
