We are excited to partner with 104th Police Precinct, Summerfield Family Residence and Animal Care Centers of NYC, Woodward Avenue, on St. Nicholas Day to make the holiday spirit brighter for families, children and our furry friends. Visitors can bring new, unwrapped toys & gifts for children ages 1 through 18, and gently used, clean linens (blankets, sheets, pillowcases, towels) and/or supplies (unopened food and treats, cat litter, gently used leashes and collars.

Animal Care Centers of NYC will be at the event and will have information on adoption and care for adopted pets. 104th Police Precinct, Community Affairs will also be on hand to accept gifts and toys for the families at Summerfield Family Residence. Please help support these important community groups! St. Nicholas would want you to!

Greater Ridgewood Historical Society will celebrate the traditional Dutch holiday of St. Nicholas Day or Sinterklaas on Sunday December 8th from 12 – 4 PM at the Vander Ende Onderdonk House, 1820 Flushing Avenue. Adults are $5.00 and children are free. You can have photos with St. Nicholas each child will receive a special gift. Refreshments will be available. The Onderdonk House will be decorated, and our seasonal exhibit on The Legend of St. Nicholas will be on display. Evacuation Day, November 25, 1783, was celebrated in New York for many years and still is locally by historical groups.
