Meet the people who lived through the American Revolution.

In our interactive Meet a Revolutionary! experience, Steve Thomas portrays Peter Williams of Woodbridge, bringing one of Middlesex County's Revolutionary-era residents to life through stories and demonstrations of everyday 18th-century skills.

Visit Caught in the Crossfire: Divided Loyalties in Middlesex County at the Cornelius Low House Museum and experience history through the eyes of the people who lived it.

The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more about the exhibit, visit: https://tinyurl.com/yv4jyc26

🇺🇸 On June 22, 1776, New Jersey took a major step toward independence.

After Governor William Franklin was removed from office, the New Jersey Provincial Congress sent five new delegates to the Continental Congress with instructions to vote for independence, including Richard Stockton of Princeton.

This historic map, found in the Middlesex County Book of Public Road Surveys (1720–1775), shows Revolutionary-era Princeton, including the College of New Jersey (now Princeton University) and Stockton's home, now known as Morven Museum & Garden.

As we celebrate America 250, we're looking back at the moments that brought us closer to independence. Visit the Cornelius Low House Caught in the Crossfire exhibit to explore the people and places that shaped the Revolution right here in Middlesex County.
