Indiana Heritage Arts A Juried Fine Art Exhibition and Sale of traditional and representational Indiana Art All works
must be for sale with part of the proceeds benefiting IHA.

Founded in 1979, Indiana Heritage Arts makes it home in the historic Brown
County Art Gallery in Nashville, Indiana. Its mission is to support Indiana heritage
style artists who follow in the legacy of the early Brown County Art Colony whose
Impressionist style artists arrived in the early 1900s. Each June, IHA holds one of the largest annual art competitions in the Midwest
for artists from or wit

h a tie to Indiana. Some 100 artists enter to win a place in
the Exhibition and Sale as well as a portion of $30,000 in prize money. The organization also
receives support from individual donors, corporate sponsors, and many local and
statewide businesses. Artists juried into IHA shows may be selected to exhibit and sell in IHA’s Rapp
Gallery Room which provides year-round exhibition space. Artwork is routinely
rotated by IHA managers. Art for sale is featured on the IHA website and on
Facebook and Instagram. The IHA Board of Directors purchases a painting from each year's show, building a
Permanent Collection of current Hoosier Masters. Paintings are displayed in the
Gallery as well as in the West Baden Springs Hotel in French Lick, In, and other
local locations. IHA also supports other art organizations by donating funds for art awards and
other projects. Support for our mission is always appreciated.

"Honeycomb Rock" by Mark Burkett.
It's a 18x14 oil on panel painting and signed by Burkett on the left corner, offered at $2200.
Mark earned his B.F.A. in printmaking from Indiana State University and has built a career as an illustrator and painter, with work held in numerous public and private collections across the Midwest — including a stint as Artist-in-Residence at Indiana Dunes National Park. He is a very active, award-winning Indiana Heritage Arts member, participating for many years in the Annual IHA Exhibition & Sale, receiving numerous awards over the years, including this past summer, winning a Merit Award for his piece, "Hundreds of Millions".

Jeanne is an award-winning Indiana-based artist and a long-time IHA member, participating in the IHA Exhibition & Sale for many years, including this past summer with this beautiful oil painting. Jeanne's art can most always be seen in the IHA Rapp Room and the Brown County Art Gallery, as well as the Brown County Art Guild, the Juniper Gallery in Spencer, and at Color Works Framing and Art Gallery which she owns and operates in Mooresville.

Because of the Printmaker Exhibit's popularity, we are extending it through September 20th! Stop in and see the mastery of Indiana's top printmakers, whose dazzling prints are for sale! Part of any proceeds will benefit the Brown County Art Gallery Foundation.

Incredibly sad news for our local art community. Kimoy was such a bright light, and so warm and kind to all. 😢

This is a post I can barely write.
Our beautiful Kimoy Bennett was killed Wednesday, August 12, in a traffic accident near her home. She was alone in her car when it collided with a truck on SR 46.
Our hearts are broken. Words are failing us.
Our love and tears for her husband Adam and her two young boys Samuel and Alexander and their grandmother, our dear Jeanne.
As our education director, Kimoy changed the lives of seniors and children with the many programs she directed and funded. She grew in her time with us to become a community fixture, serving on other committees to help make the arts accessible to all of Brown County. She grew writing skills that she used for grant writing and public communication that brought major support to the Foundation . Irreplaceable.
I will miss her cheerful greeting to all who walked in the door, "Hi, Welcome to the Gallery!"
She loved the Gallery, the artists and this community. We have all lost a shining star.

Canvases are coming to life at West Baden Springs Hotel 🖌️🎨
Local artists spent the day painting the gardens and veranda for the Hoosier Masters Artists Paint Out - Presented by Brown County Art Gallery.

The finished pieces will be displayed and available for purchase Saturday in the atrium.
