Volunteers are at the annual quilt show at the JAL College today. Come see over 100 hand made quilts. The two in this photo are being raffled by JCHS. There is a lap quilt recognizing the dogs who serve in the military and a bed size for the nation’s 250th. The lap quilt tickets are $5 or 5 for $20. The bed size are $10 or 3 for $25. If you can’t make it by today, come see us on Wednesdays or Fridays from 12-3 at 1616 Edith and purchase your tickets.

In honor of the nation's 250th birthday being celebrated this year, the JCHS is offering lifetime memberships for only $250. This offer is only available until August 31st, 2026.

A membership (lifetime or annual) gets you online access to many of our record indexes as well as our photo catalog index. You can get a discount on publications, our quarterly newsletter with stories and information about the history of Jackson County, and many other amenities.

This would be a great time to update your membership or become a member. Lifetime members never have to worry about paying dues again! Memberships can be done online at www.jchsil.org or by stopping by the JCHS building during our working hours on Wednesdays from 12-3 and Fridays from 12-3.

The JCHS has some scrap items available for anyone that wants to pick them up. They are located on the west side of our building in the alley. If anyone is interested they can come by and take it away.

THIS ITEM HAS BEEN SOLD. The JCHS is looking to rehome a shelf and storage unit we have been using for some time. The dimensions for the item are 48" wide, 24" deep and 56" in height. It has nine slots on the front for displaying items and four drawers for storage at the bottom. We are asking $75. You must be able to pick it up as we cannot deliver. We are open this evening (July 2) until 8 p.m. and tomorrow (July 3) from 12-3 p.m. Come by or call 618-684-6989.
