The wait is over! The first weekend of "Spirits of the Past: A Walk in the Dark" is almost here. 🦇

Step by lantern light into the shadowy recesses of our 19th-century village for an enchanting evening of eerie encounters, chilling tales, and spooky fun. Inspired this year by the macabre works of Edgar Allan Poe, these after-dark walking tours are a Halloween tradition you won't want to miss.

🎟️ Tickets are vanishing fast! Fridays and Saturdays are close to sold out, but there's still time to plan your visit for Sunday. Don't wait until these spots disappear, too!

Our ongoing Seeking Freedom initiative shares the powerful stories of enslaved individuals, freedom-seekers, Black and white abolitionists, and enslavers—highlighting a history that has shaped our society in ways still alive today.

These stories are told through exhibits, off-site presentations, and our "Toward Freedom & Fairness" guided walking tours offered every Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. and centered on four buildings in the Historic Village: Towar Land Office, the Quaker Meeting House, the Livingston-Backus House, and the Nathaniel Rochester House.

Who's ready for tricks or treats? 🎃

Get dressed in your favorite Halloween costume and go trick-or-treating through our 19th-century Historic Village. Kids can make their way from porch to porch, visiting eight historic homes and shops, collecting sweet treats and meeting our interpreters and skilled craftspeople.

The menu is set for a delightful afternoon tea focusing on the cozy flavors of fall and a bit of mystical history. The All Hallows' Tea features soups, sandwiches, cakes, and scones followed by a tea leaf reading and a lesson in how to read your own tea leaves!

Area schools may be closed next Monday, but the Museum will be open and all kids 12 and under receive FREE admission!
