Find Your Balance: Outdoor Yoga Flow Returns to Cooper-Molera Adobe Gardens

Join us for a rejuvenating 60-minute outdoor yoga flow amidst the serene beauty of the Cooper Molera Gardens, right behind Alta Bakery in downtown Monterey. In this class, we will focus on fluid breathwork, alignment, and building strength through a series of asanas (yoga poses) that flow seamlessly together. The class is suitable for all levels, from beginners to seasoned yogis. You’ll leave feeling refreshed, grounded, and more connected to both your body and the natural surroundings.

Instructor: Naomi Lear

Sunday, June 7, 9-10am

What to Bring:

-A yoga mat
-A towel or beach blanket for under your mat (to ensure comfort and stability)
-Layers for varying weather

After class, you’re welcome to linger in the gardens or enjoy a post-yoga treat from just steps away. Take a break from the hustle and bustle, find your flow, and experience the calming beauty of outdoor yoga in one of Monterey’s most charming spaces. We can’t wait to see you there!

{New Series} Skylight Talks: Paintings of the Adobe

Step into the artistic world of 1870s and 1880s California, where paintings filled homes, salons, and gathering spaces, sparking conversation and reflecting the aspirations of a growing society. Inspired by the historic tradition of the “Salon hang,” this intimate tour explores how the paintings at Cooper-Molera Adobe tell stories of art, culture, and community in Monterey and San Francisco.

Nicolas Sanchez, our Visitor Services & Interpretation Assistant, will guide guests through the museum's rooms, discovering oil paintings by masters like Samuel Marsden Brookes, whose fish still lifes were celebrated as “our local master of still life” by contemporary critics.

The experience encourages questions and conversation throughout, making art history accessible and engaging for all.
