Souvenir 1–5, 2026

Richard Vergez’s collage practice condensed into a series of intimate works, where fragments are assembled and sealed in wax. The surface becomes both archive and barrier, as the wax holds the image in place, while also softening and distorting it, creating a tension between preservation and disappearance.

Fragments of Disappearance, a solo exhibition by Richard Vergez, is on view through April 4.

We’ll be hosting a final gathering at our space in Little River this Saturday April 4th from 5-9PM with SOUNDS BY MARTIN ZERO.

Fragment 2 & Fragment 3, 2026

These works fold back into Richard Vergez’s practice, where nothing is truly left behind. Composed from discarded images once set aside in earlier collages, they carry a curatorial logic of return, fragments given a second life, not as remnants but as anchors. The compositions feel deliberate yet provisional, as if still shifting beneath the surface.

The structures themselves hold their own past. The wood, repurposed from a previous exhibition’s diorama, becomes both support and subject. Encased in resin, each element is fixed in place, suspended, preserved, sealed in time.

What emerges is a quiet convergence of cycles. Image, material, and memory move through phases of use, discard, and recovery. Here, they settle into a new form that holds all of those moments at once.

Disappear Here, 2026

A portal to a temporary universe of restful meditation and solitary sanctuary. Once inside, you are encouraged to have a seat and observe yourself in the mirror to a backdrop of special music and dim lighting. The sound you hear is a distorted interpretation of the gallery toilet flushing. Disappear Here.

Be sure to experience Richard Vergez’s solo exhibition Fragments of Disappearance, on view through April 4.

Playback, 2026

Playback is a self-referential, sculptural piece for obsolete machines. A reel-to-reel tape machine plays a recording of its own operation on a continuous tape loop suspended from the ceiling, using the attached radio as an amplifier. The sound documents the device’s mechanical labor, while the machine performs that same labor in real time rendering time as a physical loop and an object both archival and performative. The tape machine plays itself. Ingrained in the objects is the animism of their past owners.

Acquisition Alert 🚨

We’re thrilled to share that the NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale () has acquired ‘The Redeemer’ by Roscoè B. Thické III.

The work was first presented at homework’s booth during UNTITLED ART fair this past Miami Art Week, and seeing it find a permanent home in the NSU Art Museum collection makes the moment even more special.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring this moment together.

Collage Wall, 2026

This wall presents a selection from Richard Vergez’s ongoing collage practice, a daily discipline he often describes as “painting with images.” Working with archival source material, Vergez assembles fragments of human figures, technological elements, and graphic forms into compositions that balance density with restraint. His distinct visual language makes clever use of negative space, allowing each collage to breathe while guiding the viewer through layered narratives about memory, media, and modern identity.

Installed together, the works form a shifting visual field. Each collage is individually available for purchase and replaced as it is acquired, allowing the wall to function as a living, evolving installation that gradually changes over the course of the exhibition.

Richard Vergez’s solo exhibition Fragments of Disappearance is on view through April 4.

Untitled Art Miami Beach comes to a close, and we’re heading home with full hearts.

We’re grateful for an energizing week and even more grateful to Roscoè B Thické III for joining us this year.

His deep storytelling work was matched only by the warm energy he carried throughout the fair. Roscoè’s presence pulled people in just as much as the pieces themselves.

His new works combined his signature photography with materials tied to home and personal history. Visitors kept coming back to works like ‘The Redeemer’ and ‘The Witness’ for good reason.

A million thanks to Clara Andrade Pereira, Jonny Tanna, Cailin Sung, and everyone at Untitled Art Miami Beach for all your support and for making it all happen.

Special thanks to all the other Nest galleries! We had a blast hanging out with you all week.

Be sure to check out Roscoe’s curatorial debut ‘Suns & Shadows’ on view now through January 31 at the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center in Miami.

See you next year ☀️

SUBS, MIDS & HIGHS, 2023
Archival Fine Art Print on Hahnemühle Baryta Satin 300 gsm with Wood, Speaker Mesh, and Acrylic

Wrapped in archival prints of his mother and late grandmother, the speaker carries their presence the same way Roscoè carries them through his practice. Their faces, gestures, and stories appear again and again in his work because they shaped the way he sees the world.

Family is the core of Roscoè’s work. They shape it, they appear in it, and they stand beside him as he creates.

The piece is tuned in honor of his father, the neighborhood audiophile whose love for sound turned their home into a meeting point for family and friends.

An artwork about lineage, love, and the frequencies that hold us together.
