Get into the spirit of the spooky season at the Marietta History Center’s Haunted History Pop-In for Family Fun on Saturday, October 17th. Held on the 3rd Saturday of every month, Pop-Ins offer an exciting opportunity for children and their families to engage with the museum through themed activities and crafts.

Families will enjoy spooky-but-friendly crafts and activities exploring Marietta’s haunted past. Costumes are encouraged but not required.

Date: Saturday, October 17th, 2026
FREE Museum Admission: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Activities, Community Partners, & Vendors: 11:00 am – 2:00 pm

🏛️ Proud moment for the Marietta History Center!

Earlier this week, our Collections Manager, Christa McCay, had the honor of presenting not once, but twice at the Southeastern Museums Conference-SEMC in Winston-Salem, NC, as SEMC celebrates its 75th anniversary!

Christa presented on the following with co-speakers from GA, VA, LA, and NC:
✨ "What is Ethical?" – a closer look at ethics in museum work
🛍️ "The Shoppable Exhibit" – a look at our Museum Store (and yes, she brought a few little Big Chickens along for the trip! 🐔)

Organizations like SEMC give the MHC and museums across the Southeast the chance to learn, share ideas, and celebrate the important work we do. We're grateful to be part of this community.

In Cobb County, you see planes fly overhead every day, but have you ever wondered how companies decide how to design their planes? They use something called a livery!
A plane livery is the colors, fonts, and logos that both military and commercial planes use. ✈ Thank you to Smith-Gilbert Gardens for inviting us out for their Homeschool Day where we got to teach students about plane liveries! Students got to create their own liveries and to fly their newly designed planes! It was a beautiful, windy day to show off their new designs and see how far their plane would fly!
