The Gymnasium For The Mind program empowers people by enhancing their mental acuity and cognitive skills through guided games and playful creativity.

We formed the Gymnasium For The Mind workshop program because we have seen and experienced how these games and exercises enhance the cognitive functions of the players, as well as being fun and engaging. As people age, it is essential for their general happiness and quality of life to remain mentally fit and active, just as they need to stay physically active. And, just as one goes to a gym to work out to stay physically fit, Gymnasium For The Mind serves that vital purpose for mental fitness with exercises that are involving while promoting playfulness and sociability. There are programs available for adults of all ages.

This Thursday morning, I’ll be at the Malibu Senior Center for a complimentary Gymnasium for the Mind™ workshop—a lively hour of games and exercises designed to challenge attention, concentration, memory, creativity, and, most importantly, to have some fun while we’re doing it.

Happy heavenly birthday to my friend and co-founder of Gymnasium For The Mind, Michael D. Nye. I think he'd be pleased with the program we conceived so long ago over his kitchen table, but I'm sure he's on to other creative endeavors and giving the Almighty a piece of his mind. Malibu, here we come!

Gymnasium for the Mind is delighted to be offering a complimentary workshop at the Malibu Senior Center on Thursday, September 24, from 10–11 AM.

Come join us for an hour of laughter, play, and mental exercise as we use guided games and improvisational activities to challenge concentration, memory, creativity, communication—and those wonderful little gray cells!

No improv experience required. There’s nothing to memorize, nothing to prepare, and no pressure to perform. Just bring yourself, your curiosity, and a willingness to play.

It’s always a joy to be back at L.A.’s beautiful Central Library—there’s something special about gathering in a space devoted to curiosity and learning… and what a magnificent space it is.

Please join me for the next Gymnasium for the Mind workshop, where we’ll play with ideas, stretch our thinking, and enjoy some games guaranteed to wake up the brain. We’ll also explore how improv engages our creativity—and how we can bring more of that creativity into our everyday lives.
