Photographers - Want to Get Your Work into a Museum? Here’s How.

Securing a spot in a museum exhibition—or even better, a permanent collection—can transform your career. But it doesn’t happen by chance.

This webinar is your roadmap to making it happen.

Led by Daniel Miller, who has engaged in discussions with 25 museum curators this week on this very topic alone. This session offers an inside look at what curators actually look for, how to make your resume museum-ready, and when (and how) to professionally approach a museum with your work.

You’ll also learn:
• The key milestones that strengthen your credibility
• The five common mistakes that kill your chances
• A step-by-step guide to preparing for a successful museum pitch

Duncan Miller Gallery Relocates to The Reef in Downtown Los Angeles

Grand Opening on May 10, 2025, Featuring "Ruth Orkin: Unseen Prints"

LOS ANGELES, CA — April 5, 2025 — Duncan Miller Gallery is excited to announce its relocation to The Reef (Suite 1270, 1933 S. Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90007), a vibrant creative hub in Downtown LA. The gallery will officially open its doors with a special evening reception on May 10, 2025, from 6–8 PM, debuting the exhibition "Ruth Orkin: Unseen Prints."

The move marks an exciting new chapter for the gallery, offering a larger exhibition space and improved accessibility with better parking. The Reef, home to some of LA’s most influential art institutions—including The John Baldessari Foundation, Nazraeli Press, Arcana Books, and the CalArts graduate program—positions Duncan Miller Gallery in the heart of a thriving creative community.

"We’re thrilled to join such an inspiring group of neighbors and to offer our collectors and visitors an even better gallery experience," said Daniel Miller, Director of Duncan Miller Gallery. "The additional space allows us to present more ambitious exhibitions, starting with our debut show featuring never-before-seen prints by Ruth Orkin."

To celebrate the opening, other spaces within The Reef will also be open to visitors on May 10, providing an opportunity to explore the wider artistic community housed within the building.

- Opening Exhibition: Ruth Orkin: Unseen Prints

The inaugural exhibition will spotlight a rare collection of previously unseen prints by legendary photographer Ruth Orkin paired with some of her well-known works, offering a fresh perspective on her groundbreaking work. Known for her iconic street photography and cinematic storytelling, Orkin’s images capture the vibrancy of mid-century life with an unmatched sense of intimacy and authenticity.

Duncan Miller Gallery invites collectors, artists, and photography enthusiasts to experience this historic moment in the gallery’s evolution.
