Virginians have an important constitutional amendment to vote on at the polls this fall: Voting Rights Restoration for Felons Upon Release. What are your thoughts on this VA Constitutional Amendment?

During our Voting Matters exhibition in 2024/2025, we had an informal poll asking visitors this very question. The overwhelming response -- people should have their voting rights reinstated after completing their sentences. We will see in November if our visitors and Virginia voters agree.

Virginia has been one of the toughest places for someone convicted of a felony to get their voting rights back. An amendment to the state constitution -- on November's ballot -- would change that.

Join us after dark for our Historic Flashlight Tours at the Workhouse Arts Center. Guided only by your (souvenir) flashlight, you’ll journey through the Lorton Prison Museum, historic cellblock, and "Murder Alley" in complete darkness ($10-15).

These 15–20 minute continuous tours run on Haunt nights, but you don't need admission to the Haunt trail to partake! Come by before or after the trail, or just drop in for the tour itself.
