Tucker’s Outdoor Sculpture Gallery is located on the streets of downtown Lenoir and is named for the town’s historical Tucker family, who settled in the area in 1797. Their barn was located near the Caldwell Arts Council and served as everything from a voting precinct and muster ground to a store and a place for “frolics” and celebrations.

After a hiatus during recovery and rebuilding after Hurricane Helene, the fun, friendly and colorful 18th Annual Mermaid Parade & Festival returns to downtown Marshall on Saturday and Sunday, June 6–7. Festivities kick off Saturday at 12 p.m.

The Gallery is calling for artists who live in or near the northwestern region of North Carolina and are 16 years of age or older to submit original fine art works into the following divisions: Division I: Paintings, Drawings, Lithographs, etc., Division II: Sculpture, Pottery, Metals, etc., and Division III: Mixed Media, Collage, Fibers. Submissions will be taken on July 7th and 8th from 11 AM to 5 PM. Each artist may only submit three pieces in each division for a total of nine pieces. All work will be judged and awards will be given out by this year's juror, Thomas Thielemann. Awards include 1st place ($200), 2nd place ($150), and 3rd place ($75) in each division, Best in Show- Margaret Bloomfield Award ($500) and Most Creative Imagination- Edith Marie Carter Award ($100). People’s Choice voting will also take place for the Northwest Artists’ Exhibition.

We are excited to share that the structural engineer approved the concrete footings and framing for the elevator shaft in our new facility! Next month, all of the elevator's works will be installed, and a 6-inch water main will be run to the building to serve its new fire suppression/sprinkler system.
