🗓️Artists’ Reception on Saturday, Aug. 15 from 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
📍New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum, 4100 Dripping Springs Road, Las Cruces, NM, 88011
This show brings pictorial glimpse of farming and ranching into focus through the expressive photos from the El Paso del Norte region. It will be on view in the Arts Corridor until Nov. 13 during the Museum’s regular hours (10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday to Saturday).
More information about the exhibit: Indigenous people began farming the land that is New Mexico between 4000 and 2500 years ago. J.D. Riddle, a 19th century photographer, took the first known photographs of farms and ranches in New Mexico. More than 140 years later, photographers, such as the talented members of the Doña Ana Photography Club and the Photography Enthusiasts of El Paso, still wander this state's crop and cattle lands seeking the photogenic.
The Doña Ana Photography Club and the Photography Enthusiasts of El Paso are camera clubs dedicated to providing photographers with educational, resource, and networking opportunities that support them in their professional, fine arts, and hobby pursuits. Both clubs are members of the Photographic Society of America, a global community of passionate photographers.
