For this week’s What’s It Wednesday, we are featuring our liquor cabinet! The liquor cabinet was designed by Swedish-born craftsman John Hjorth, who was later incarcerated at the Wyoming Penitentiary for forgery in November 1899. During his sentence, he designed and made furniture, before his pardon in 1902 by Governor D.F. Richards. He later opened a furniture store in Laramie with his business partner Jacob May before mysterously disappearing. The cabinet is on display on the first floor of the museum, for visitiors to view today!🧐

For this week's What's It Wednesday, we are featuring our calendar clock safe! The calendar clock safe is featured in the Ivinsons' kitchen and is used to store food. The safe was originally purchased by Horace D. Beemer in 1896 from a traveling salesman. This item was considered a feature of a modern kitchen at the time. The safe contains many storage capabilities; the top of the safe has storage for kitchen essentials like flour, sugar, and coffee, and the side of the safe has a coffee grinder. There is also a pie safe located at the bottom as well, all of which can be seen in the images!⏰🥧

🍾 - A TASTE OF BRUNCH & BUBBLY

This year's B&B was a success! We sold out tickets, had a big list of sponsors, and a ton of donations! We had a moving talk with keynote speaker and Macey Bradshaw's dad, Justin (A New Dawn Remembering Macey Dawn) about the importance of mental health. We also had the great pleasure of bringing our friend Jim Schmidt with Gabby Petito Foundation -- it was also our first year honoring First Responders!

Live auctions, silent auctions, and raffle items. We're so lucky and incredibly grateful to everyone that donated items, experiences, and time for our fundraiser! Delicious drinks were provided by Cowboy Saloon & Dance Hall and brunch from Nick’s Cowboy Catering. Check out https://www.safeproject.org/brunch2026 to see who believes in our mission! 🤠

Together, we raised more than $35,000. All of it goes to SAFE Project's services like our hotline, our shelter, and our financial assistance for survivors.

But we're not done! We're always looking for people willing to either donate or volunteer. Let us know if you're interested.

For this week's What's It Wednesday, we are featuring our moustache cups! The moustache cup, often a coffee or tea cup, features a ledge on the inner rim that helps protect the drinker's moustache wax from the liquid inside the cup. The cup was invented in the late 19th century following the increase in men with moustaches based on Western trends at the time. Our cups are featured just outside the mansion's kitchen and are available to view by the public!👨🏻☕️

For this week’s What’s It Wednesday, we are featuring our Empress Theatre display! Constructed in 1912 and managed by John King, the theatre aimed to bring family-friendly entertainment to Laramie. The theatre featured a live orchestra that played during silent films and plays! Our photo, taken in 1913, showcases what the theatre would have looked like around the time of its opening. For this week’s What’s It Wednesday, we are featuring our railroad display! The display features many items significant to Laramie’s history as a temporary city built for railroad workers before individuals like the Ivinsons invested in permanent structures for the community. Our display features a map created by Grace Rayomond Hebard, which depicts a rendition of the railroad, as well as a uniform and many smaller pieces.
