A big, warm welcome to our new member Jill Moreno!

Jill is a fantastic pottery artist specializing in cups, goblets, vases, and other beautiful vessels.

From the artist herself:

ā€œI am a Lansing based ceramic artist, and I have been making pottery since 2023. I took my first ceramics class my sophomore year at Michigan State University and have been making pots ever since. My work consists of functional pieces with rounded forms, soft lines, and pops of color. I enjoy bringing handmade beauty into peoples daily lives. You can find me on instagram @ā€Œjillmoreno.jpgā€

Welcome Jill!

~It’s an Artist Feature Friday! ~

This Friday we’re featuring GLAG artist Suzette Hittner!

Suzette’s artistic vision is fueled by a passion for discovering and repurposing forgotten treasures. She creates unique pieces by blending classic and antique glassware with upcycled window panes, allowing beams of light to bring joy and discovery into any room.

She sources antique glassware from dusty secondhand shops, forgotten basements, and old garages, combining these treasures with window panes salvaged from historic buildings or long-forgotten storefronts. Each piece honors the craftsmanship of the past while giving new life to materials that might otherwise be discarded or forgotten.

Working primarily with pressed glass—plates, bowls, and other overlooked items—Suzette’s art merges sustainability with beauty. Every piece is framed and ready to transform a home, inviting viewers on a journey where past and present meet in a vibrant play of color and light.

Come check out her work at Great Lakes Art in Gifts! The sunlight shining through her pieces in-person really showcases their beauty!

Welcome, welcome to our newest artist Tina Gardner!

Tina creates with textiles in innovative ways, and breathes new life into recycled materials. For her dresses, skirts, shirts, and dusters, Tina uses unwanted and thrifted fabrics and turns them into new pieces to help limit fashion waste.

Her collection of crochet pieces include festival wear like cowboy and witch hats, and fun mushroom pouches. Or try out her fidget friends - adorable hedgehogs and chickens for anxiety relief and anyone needing to keep hands busy! Tina’s fun hats and fingerless gloves are great for colder weather and a pop of color.

Welcome to the gallery Tina! We can’t wait to see what you create next!

~It’s an Artist Feature Friday! ~

This Friday we’re featuring GLAG artist Lisa Haston!

From the artist herself: ā€œI’ve been weaving periodically since the mid-1980’s. I started basket weaving when my two sons were young, as something I did for myself. It soon became therapeutic for me to weave and it remains that way today.ā€

Lisa is a basket weaver of great talent - with a variety of basket styles, sizes, and colors to choose from, there’s a basket to fit every home and season!

Choose from a selection of baskets from small to large, and from simple to elaborate. All are carefully handmade and a labor of love! You won’t find quality vessels like these just anywhere!

Lisa’s baskets move fast, too - so grab your favorite at the gallery while you can!
