Florida Air Museum More than a collection of airplanes; it stands as a tribute to the history and joy of flight.

As Florida’s “Official Aviation Museum and Education Center,” the Florida Air Museum features a dynamic display of unique designs, classics, ultra-lights, antiques, and warbirds. Exhibits educate about pioneers like Howard Hughes, early air racers, and Floridians and others who have influenced the world of aviation. As part of the Aerospace Center for Excellence, the Museum also offers a variety o

f year-round educational experiences for all ages including camps, tours, workshops, and speaker presentations. The Museum continues to grow and meet the challenge of showcasing aviation history through exhibits, restoration and preservation, education and outreach, and sharing a passion for flight with visitors of all ages.

Our Wings ‘n Waffles events will not meet during the summer due to an abundance of activities happening in the Florida Air Museum. We will be back on August 8th. Mark your calendars now!

Come experience the Florida Air Museum’s newest program: smART! This is a class dedicated to exploring STEM concepts through the lens of art. 🎨

May’s theme is Snapshot in Time: Anthotypes. We will go back to a time before cameras and printers and learn to create a wonderful negative image of a hot air balloon in the sunshine using beets and turmeric. Participants will also get a close-up look at some of the blueprints, made by a similar process called cyanotype, in the collection of the Florida Air Museum. 🎈

Summer is right around the corner! And since summer is all about flexibility, we are adding Mondays to our StoryTime schedule. That means that you can choose either Monday or Tuesday at 10 a.m. to come and adventure with us! Same content, but two days to choose from. 📚🐛

The summer program begins June 15th and will explore the many “hats” (careers) of aviation with the theme: Hats Off to Aviation. There will be lots of singing, dancing, and stories, so come and join us. Silly hats are encouraged! 🤠
