The Ashley Gibson Barnett Museum of Art is proud to participate in the Blue Star Museums program this summer as a way to say thank you to the military families who serve our country.

Blue Star Museums is a nationwide initiative through the National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families, in partnership with the Department of Defense, offering benefits to currently serving military personnel and their families, including the National Guard and Reserve.

While admission to The AGB is always free, military families can also enjoy 10% off purchases in The Shop at The AGB from May 16 through September 7 with a valid military ID.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening reception of The Last Picture Show: A Retrospective of Recent Ledger Staff Photographers.

Storytelling through photography came to life during an engaging panel discussion featuring photojournalists Cindy Skop, Rick Runion, Calvin Knight, Scott Wheeler, and Ernst Peters, moderated by The AGB Executive Director and guest curator Dr. Daryl Ward. Their insights into the craft of photojournalism made for an evening that was both entertaining and inspiring.

The exhibition also features work by Pierre DuCharme and Paul Johnson and remains on display in the Museum’s Photography Gallery through August 16. We’re grateful to all who attended and helped make the evening such a memorable celebration of visual storytelling.
