The start is the best paaaart 🫶🏻

Playing with mixed media on this one - underpainting with some super vibrant flash paint and painting oils on top. She has a long way to go and will change a lot from this block-in, but sometimes posting starts keeps me accountable for my finishes :)

Here is that lil painting from the video I posted a few days back; I had the opportunity to snag a few fun panels when I visited the Trekell Art Supplies warehouse recently (cool things are coming… 🤫) so it has been a lot of fun playing with some circular compositions 🟠🩵

I love the imperfect nature of a sketchbook. I carry it with me almost everywhere and draw only when I feel inspired… or, bored. When I think back to all the times I was inspired to draw as a kid, it came out of boredom. That lack of stimulus led to curiosity and play in the sketchbook when faced with a blank page. To turn nothing into… something. It was the best feeling in the world. And it was just for me to see. There was never any emphasis on the outcome. It was just about being connected to that flow state. It’s messy and real and human, and it’s so urgently necessary for us to be those things.

I am also just a girl whose nails influence my color palette. 💙💛

Thinking back on this magical moment with DannyWolf (She/They) and Mason Williams a few weeks ago 💚 We were looking for a spot to paint at the Jimmy Carter Center in Atlanta and found a little waterfall that was so peaceful to listen to while painting. We may or may not have hopped over some caution tape to get a little closer… :)
