Anne Moore | The Beauty of Nuance
Anne’s work is distinguished by its beautiful nuances—subtle shifts in color, texture, line, and form that are evident in these four pieces and throughout her work.
Anne creates one-of-a-kind monotypes by working with an inked plate and building imagery through a combination of techniques. She develops texture, works with color and mark-making, and uses hand-carved linocuts to both add and remove ink. Stencils, textured materials, trace monotype, and collage are also part of her process.
Her distinctive calligraphic marks and imagined alphabets bring another layer to the compositions, functioning as visual elements rather than readable text. Her process is intuitive, allowing the imagery and relationships between the elements to develop through the act of printmaking.
