Engage with our collection of 3,000 objects. Founded in 2004, the Hilliard Art Museum at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette presents exhibitions and programs that engage the university and wider Acadiana communities, fostering the creative exchange of ideas and cross-disciplinary research rooted in the visual arts. The museum also preserves and advances scholarship on its 2500+ piece permanent art collection, ranging from 17th century landscapes to contemporary Louisiana photography.

Step inside a steel frame that outlines three rooms of a home. *Matthew Day Jackson: Yesterday's Tomorrow* opens September 19, filling those rooms with paintings, furniture, and sculpture the artist built from Formica, laminate, and molded plywood, the very materials that once promised American families a piece of the future. Jackson works with the optimism of postwar America, from LIFE magazine spreads to the Moon landing, rebuilding its images into objects that feel historical and futuristic at once. Walk through the rooms, see how far that imagination reached, and consider what we might build from it next.

Step into Rachel Libeskind's world of discarded images and forgotten fragments, on view through August 22.

Artist Rachel Libeskind builds large-scale collage works from discarded images and forgotten fragments, drawn to what's hidden or overlooked. "I've always been called to the cause to rescue, to save, or to intervene," she says of her practice. The exhibition finds poetry in the mundane rhythms of everyday life.
