Another piece of Laconia’s history has found its way to our archives for safe keeping!

Marie is always ready to make sure new donations are checked in correctly and prepared for preservation correctly.

We are so thankful to our community for trusting LHMS with the artifacts, photographs, documents, and memories that tell Laconia’s story.

Have something you think belongs in Laconia’s history? We’d love to hear from you!

History doesn’t organize itself!

Our amazing volunteers are rolling up their sleeves and getting to work—organizing collections, working through the archives, and uncovering the stories that make Laconia special.

They bring dedication, hard work, plenty of laughs, and always a smile!

We couldn’t do it without them. Want to be part of the team? There’s always room for another helping hand at LHMS!

Things are happening at LHMS!

The carpet is coming up, rooms are being cleared, and our volunteers are hard at work transforming spaces behind the scenes.

It may look like a mess right now, but we see possibilities! Every bit of work brings us closer to creating spaces that better serve our collections and our community.

We’re not quite ready to reveal everything yet… but something exciting is taking shape.

Stay tuned—you’ll want to see what comes next!

Collections work is a lot of blood, sweat, and sometimes a few tears—but thankfully, it also comes with a TON of laughs.

Recently, Charlene decided our “Going Someplace Else” sign perfectly summed up how she was feeling after a long Collections Day!

Behind every artifact we preserve, every box we organize, every photograph we identify, and every piece of Laconia’s story we uncover is a group of hard-working LHMS volunteers who keep showing up and getting it done.

History doesn’t preserve itself—and we’re grateful to the people who make it happen!❤
