How cool is this!!

Situated beside the Skagit River in one of the most fertile valleys of the Pacific Northwest, it's no surprise that Mount Vernon developed from a small river settlement into the commercial and governmental center of the Magic Skagit. Join us Sunday August 16th for our last talk with Amy Muia and The Headliners of Northern State Hospital Cemetery
2pm to 4pm at Skagit City School.

Step into the headlines of history with Northern State Hospital researcher Amy Muia as she explores the most talked-about stories from the earliest days of the hospital in 1909 to its closing in 1973. Discover how news coverage reflected changing treatments and philosophies, uncover scandals both real and rumored, learn about notable patients and staff, and hear surprising stories that offer a rare glimpse into life at one of Washington's most renowned institutions.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, the staff, the volunteers, and all of the members of the Skagit County Historical Society, we offer great thanks to The Sam and Colleen Nunn Foundation for their continuously amazing support, and the beautiful carvings from Camas Logue and Kevin Paul (K Paul Carvings) And thanks to all who attended the unveiling on Friday evening at the Museum.
Another very special 'thank you' to the Nunns for providing a really delicious and wonderful buffet from Gere-a-Deli in Anacortes!
The carvings now have their permanent place on the Western exterior wall at the Skagit County Historical Museum in La Conner!

I'm not going to share a photo of the carvings, because the unique beauty of this labor of love cannot be captured. Please come by the Museum to view the work and to read the story of the carvings.

This looks very interesting!
