Welcome to SoKno Sculpt, Carteret!

We’re excited to welcome Carteret to our growing community of Knoxville-area sculptors!

Carteret creates living sculpture and architectural spaces using natural materials and traditional building techniques, including roundwood carpentry, stonework, clay plaster, and living roofs. His work brings art, architecture, and the natural environment together to create spaces that feel as though they belong to the landscape.

We’re looking forward to seeing what he brings to the SoKno Sculpt community!

**Spotlight on SoKno Sculpt Artist Emily Moorhead-Wallace of New Roots LLC 🌿🐦**
Emily Moorhead-Wallace, in collaboration with artist Janet Austin, created ** Nestful,** a public artwork located across from the Farm-in-the-Zoo in Chicago's Lincoln Park as part of the Chicago Tree Project.

Built into a 100-year-old oak tree that had reached the end of its natural lifespan, *Nestful* transforms the tree into a thriving bird sanctuary. The sculpture was constructed using reclaimed scrap lumber, barn wood, cedar siding, and wood generously donated by a local furniture maker. Together, the artists installed 190 handcrafted birdhouses, creating habitat for native birds while giving new purpose to a dying tree. 🌳💚

This inspiring work is a beautiful example of how art, conservation, and community can come together to support biodiversity and celebrate the natural world.
