Featured 2D Artist for September, Christine Westbrook is a mixed media artist based in Louisville, TN. Here is Christine’s statement about her work. “I have always been fascinated by the power of layers in my work. Through the exploration of acrylic paint and mixed media, I have discovered new techniques and methods to build depth and texture in my pieces. Color plays a central role in my art, whether I’m creating wildlife or abstract paintings. Each stroke and mark is carefully considered to create a harmonious and impactful design. My goal is to capture the essence of my subjects and bring them to life through my use of vibrant colors and unique layering methods.”

Marianne Custer is our 3D featured artist for September. Marianne is a professional costume designer and professor emerita of costume design at the University of Tennessee. As a costume designer, she has won numerous juried competitions nationally and has been selected to represent the United States in three international design competitions. Her leather sculptures represent the confluence of her work in the theatre and her interest in the world of fine art. She explores floral forms through the manipulation of leather.
